I don’t always buy organic. There is an easy way to clean a lot of the pesticides and sprays off of your produce, and it doesn’t require any fancy sprays.

Washing Produce to Reduce Toxins

  • Mix 3 parts water to 1 part white vinegar (3:1) in a spray bottle.
  • Spray on fruits/veggies to get rid of pesticide residue.
  • Rinse.

Or, Easier…

  • Fill a bowl with water and add 1/8 to 1/2 cup of vinegar, depending on the size of your bowl.
  • Soak fruits and veggies in the bowl for 15mins.
  • Rinse.

It’s not fool-proof – I do recommend going organic for the “dirty dozen” – but it helps a lot!
