the GOOD, the BAD & the YUMMY

This is a weekly feature where I share one thing that I’m loving, one thing I’m not, and one simple, SUPER easy, clean-eating recipe.

the Good: Sleep!

the BAD:  Deodorant

  • How do you know if your deodorant is toxic? Most commercial deodorants contain toxic aluminum to unnaturally reduce sweating.  Research has linked aluminum to damaged DNA, abnormal cell function and changes in gene expressions. Antiperspirants are slightly different and contain chemicals that clog the very pores that are designed to detox through sweating.
  • What are your options? There are SO many more natural and nontoxic deodorants on the market now! Here are a few brands that you said you love:
      • NATIVE: available worldwide at
        • This was the CLEAR winner from all of your feedback!
        • Antonia said: “I’ve tried every single natural deodorant on the market and have to say Native was the only one that actually combated perspiration. Some of them seemed to make me sweat more (I’m told this a normal symptom of adjustment when you give up traditional anti-perspirants).”
